I could be wrong but were the '08s the only SSes to have the A-pillar boost gauge?

Anyway, those boost gauges were replaced by the reconfigurable performance display (RPD) for '09 and '10...they're mounted in what is normally the upper storage area in the middle of the dash, above the waterfall...so far as I know, the RPDs were an option on '09s, and standard on '10s. My '09 has one, and I like it a lot, but they seem to be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of thing among SS owners and fans.

right on, i will definitely get an 09 for BT and usb jack.

What is the likelihood of having a worthwhile warranty on a 09 w/ 40k miles?

a friend suggested that I save up longer and get a barely used 10 for a little bit more but get a good warranty. He also suggested i get a totally differnt car cause the HHR is "ugly". Why is it that so many people do not see the awesome styling that is this car??

Why worry about what anyone else thinks? If YOU like the HHR SS, then that's all that matters. The HHR isn't the kind of car that's going to have a universal appeal, but so what?

BTW, here's a couple of pics of the RPD, among the pics for this used SS...you have a number of options as to what you choose to display (speed, HP, boost, air-to-gear ratio, etc.)

Haha, yeah its the car I want. I don't really care what people think so much, just surprised at the overwhelming "nays" vs. the "yays" on the styling of the vehicle. Maybe its a northern thing, I am sure my southern kin will be more appreciative.

Also, not entirely sold on the RPD. It looks cool, but I kinda like the gauge on the left as well. It is just a glorified display or do most of you find it useful?

I also do not like the red interior and it seems most of the cars around me have it. I really like the silver/ebony interior but I was reading it is hard to find with dual front performance seats.

I have mine set to the boost gauge most of the time. I like the way it looks, and I'm happy with it, though I don't do as much as I could do with it. Some critics have bemoaned the storage space the RPD takes away. Me personally, I'd rather have the RPD, but that's me.

I love my red/black interior...that's actually what helped sell me on the Victory Red. Silver/ebony is sharp though, especially with a silver SS...did you click on any of the links I posted? Any luck?

I checked out those links, thanks!

Now I am torn over getting a cheaper 09 or just saving for a little longer for a barely used 10.

Just keep in mind that there weren't that many SSes made. They're not in great demand, so they're not that hard to find YET, but you probably don't want to wait TOO long, especially since you seem to have something pretty specific in mind.
