Hi everyone! I joined up to get ideas for my girlfriend's new 2010 HHR 2LT automatic with 31000 miles. We both had our little hearts set on a black 2008 HHR SS but we couldn't get the price down to where she was comfortable. We already have a lot of ideas just from browsing around here. First thing that needs attention is the chrome package. Neither of use are big chrome fans and this thing has chrome everywhere! inside, outside, wheels, roof racks whoever ordered it checked every box that had the word chrome in it. So if anyone wants to trade for some black pieces let me know. If not it is all getting painted over. She has buddies at a body shop so she is hoping to get everything color matched to the body color, cyber gray metallic. Then cj's 3 bar grill. We both really like how that small mod changes the look of the vehicle. After that I'll de-chrome the inside. Then we'll probably get depo black headlights. One of the chrome plastic caps on the chrome clad 17" wheels is pealing so I might attempt to see what it looks like under the cap and have the wheels powdercoated. Then down the road i'll do sways/springs/struts/shocks and after that I'd like to do intake/exhaust/tune. I know it won't be the hotrod the SS would have been but she is a gearhead like me and wants it to make a little noise but not too much because she has a kid.

Welcome I think you will like it here. You will find from stock to WILD. As to the chrome they don't have to ck all the chrome opt. just one. the 2LT box. A 1LT would be the same car with less chrome but no running boards that alone is a big +. Black door handles are easy to find also to change. there is a how to here. Along with just about anything you might want to do to you 2LT HHR. Enjoy the ride it will be fun !

I'm not a big fan of the running boards but her short legged 3 year old loves them!!! I am very impressed by how easy it is to work on so far. All of the chrome is so easy to remove. No door panels to remove, no headliner to drop. My wrx is a pain in comparison.

You might not like them but the paint on your rear doors and fenders will look alot better from them. Not as much sandblasting.

Welcome to the Fam Damily. I added a K&N intake and a Trifecta tune to my 2lt, goes pretty good, sounds way better.
