New owner with a question

I'm a new owner in southwest Ohio, I purchased a 2008 HHR Half Panel it's the only one I've ever seen. Purchased from the original owner who bought it locally. Title only says HHR he did say it has the chrome package it was bought it off the lot not by order. My question is how many half panel trucks were made both total and in 2008?

Welcome to the site!

The option is called AA5 or half panel

According to these 2009 numbers not very many, the 4 for the LS is 4 percent of the 28,801 LS models
Just 1.3 percent of the 44,144 LT models built in 2009 per

Welcome to the site.
What trim level is yours ? LS, 1LT or 2LT ?

Half panels, or the AA5 optioned HHR, were kind of a rare breed. But, they did come in all the trim levels I think. LS, 1LT , 2LT and SS.(not 100% sure about the LS)
Somewhere on our site is a list of the breakdown of %'s of ones made according to options.
Check your glovebox for the car option or RPO sticker. This is a breakdown of exactly how your car is equipped. Again, we have a list to decode those RPO numbers.
The Search box can be very helpful when looking for some of that old info. Just take your time. It's most likely been discussed on here before.

So if my math is close, by Oldblues numbers it's around 1800 or so in 2009 ?
Not counting the very few SS AA5's.

Well I checked . now more questions.

OK it says LT on the rear liftgate, don't know 1LT from 2LT.

Go ahead and call me dumb, how exactly do you open the rear liftgate the owner opened it for wife but she doesn't remember.
Also she has a keyfob if she locks it with the fob how do I turn off the alarm with just my key?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Turn the alarm off by using the key in the ignition.
There should be a liftgate button on your fob and 1 on the waterfall.
1LT will have a 2.4L engine, and probably the "chrome pkg" he mentioned.

If you need an Owner Manual follow the link in my sig.

How to open the liftgate is in the owners manual. If you don't have a manual, they're available on this site for download.

Part from the owners manual:
Liftgate: To lock the liftgate from the outside, press the lock button on the Remote Keyless Entry(RKE) transmitter. To unlock the liftgate with the RKE, press the unlock button twice within five seconds. For more information, see Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System Operation on page 3‑4. You can also use the power door lock switch to lock and unlock the liftgate.
Open the liftgate by pressing the touchpad located in the handle above the license plate. Once slightly opened, the liftgate will rise by itself. Lamps in the rear of the vehicle will come on, illuminating the rear cargo area, unless the dome lamp lever is in the off position.

Donbrew. The OP has a half panel. There is no liftgate button on the fob or the waterfall.
I guess you're thinking of the "door poppers" on a full panel.
