With the weather turning, the HHR will sit till spring and Brenda's old PT. will run the salt roads. The HHR has been oil guarded (sprayed with oil in all the panels without foam in them)

Have Had two other 57 belairs, 66 malibou ragtop, 80 buick electra,68 camaro rs, 74 firebird.

Oh my first car when I had little money at 16 was a ford fairlane gt. It got me to 1974 when I bought my first new car the Firebird (Espi?)

Yep we need to keep G.M. ALIVE AND WELL!

Father in law worked the tranny plant in Windsor.
My dad Chryslers in windsor.
Nice fleet of vehicles. The 57 Chev is supposedly the king of the classics especially in convertible. They were built in Oshawa and so too your Malibou could have come from our Plant 2. I have a 61 Austin Healey 3000 and a 73 Volvo 142 that has never seen a winter. Both I bought when I was just a kid. Also an 87 3 cylinder Pontiac Firefly, a 94Chev Tracker, 95 Buick Park Avenue and our latest 09 HHR that like yours is sleeping in our garage for the winter we haven't had yet. I've got 3 bikes to get that motorcycle fix every so often. An 83 Honda Rebel, 01 Honda VFR and a 08 Suzuki S40 (650 single cylinder).

The one 57 I still have was a Willow run car I believe. I have had only one bike a 1980 900 custom honda shaft drive 10 speed.

Before the Auto Trade Agreement between Canada and the US the only new GM vehicles that found there way to Canada were models not manufactured here like Cadillac for example. If your 57 Chevy came from GMAD Will Run then perhaps it found it's way here in later years as a special interest or classic vehicle. We built a full model line of 57's at Oshawa.

A month ago I ordered a new camaro 2LT RS in aqua blue for her... Well she found out about it, and called the dealer to cancel the order.

Too much money and not enough gas mileage she said.

So two weeks ago I took her from lot to lot and asked her to drive what she wanted. After a G6, a vibe all wheel drive, she drove the HHR and said “I want this”.

So she chose the HHR over the Camaro. (I saved 16K)

She now has a gray LT 2.2 sun n sound, remote start, exterior chrome package.

I have 2003 SSR so we both have our own play toys.

We live on the north shore of Lake Erie, 40 minutes south of Detroit.

I’m a Millwright at Heinz (ketchup) and she works with OPP (police)

REBEL is a name I used for my dog (Brittany spaniel) that we imported from Michigan (Rebel k9 draft dodger) Also I airbrush and custom paint “REBEL with a cause and a loaded airbrush” is my tag line.
My wife basically did the same, except she loves driving manual performance vehicles. We sat in a new Camaro at a car show with sunroof and she had 2 inches of head room (she's 6'1") in the drivers seat. The guy told her without the sunroof she could probably get another 1-2" of room (lol) and that originally GM wanted the roof 2" shorter but due to structural integrity had to raise it
Anyways we ended up with the HHR SS, which makes us both happy (especially since she don't mind me doing performance mods to it). I've learned long ago if the wife doesn't like my ride as much as I do I don't get to do very many things to them Luckily she like performance manual cars, loves football, college and pro both, thats always a plus
