Salutations to All and Sundry!
Just a few words to say "hello" and to say that I have found the Forum useful on many occasions. I'm not much of a "joiner" as a rule but have decided to take the plunge and get involved. I have a 2007 HHR with 91K on the clock, and the car has been very good to me in the past. I must admit that I have read some of the posts in horror at what others of you have endured in ownership. Anyway, I am pleased to be part of your number and will soon ask for advice on my own behalf. Toodle pip, for now.

Welcome to the site. 
When I 1st joined this site, I used to think they were horror stories too. I came to realize that owners are more apt to use a car site to "vent" and air their problems while looking for answers.
It's no different here than any other brand/type car site.

to the forum!To second George, most of the "horror stories" are just frustrated folks venting.
Once they get the ranting and raving out of their systems, you'll find that the majority of things that cause the largest explosions, and the more mundane everyday failures.
No car or truck model line is perfect, as I've said before, even a Rolls Royce can leave you broken down on the side of the road.
