You know.....CH has my interest regarding "nobodys that stupid"!

Maybe this week I'll grab some 2 dollar bills and stop at several different stores to buy "things". Just to see what kind of problem MAY occur.

 

I think I still have some also. Now just where to go......

 

Yeah. I kind of peaked my own interest also.

 

Except the expression is queer as a three dollar bill. Why queer? because it's the three dollar version that doesn't exist. At least that's they way I've always heard it.

 

I think it was originally a two dollar bill until they actually started making two dollar bills. Then it became three. At least that's what my grandfather told me. It made sense to me because nobody really uses the term queer anymore except when talking about homosexuals so hence it has to be an old expression.

 

Now that we are talking about the $2 bill I'm gaining interest. They are still making them so it's not like they are ancient money or something. I guess strippers love them. I also know that our children are still being taught about $2 bills because of my step daughter. I'm telling you guys the first story is fake as all hell.

 

They have been making the $2 bill in the US since 1862, the current design is the oldest of the currently printed US bills.

 

Looks like grandpa was a liar. Or his history was convoluted because he was old. I also did a little research on the expression and I guess $2 and $3 are both used. $2 because they are sort of rare and $3 because they don't exist. I guess it depends on how you first heard it. I also found out that Steve Wozniak the apple computer guy loves $2 bills. He pays for things from a book of two dollar bills. He buys uncut sheets from the US mint and has them bound into little booklets. That seems a little bit eccentric huh?

 

That would be so cool to have a coupon book-like thing of bills! The strippers would love that! I'm just guessing, haven't been in years.

 

They originally gained popularity at the horse tracks.. there was a $2 window for the longest time.
