Gas will never go way down.....

If you really dig into things, the "Opec" members have this stuff down to a science.... Remember years ago when gas was under a dollar a gallon??? That was because they couldn't get their "S_ _T" together. They used to have Opec meetings every 3 months. So if they screwed up ( didn't cut production enough ) it took awhile for things to catch up ... If you have been listening to the news, or reading the newspapers they now call "Emergency" meetings whenever they feel the price is dropping too much. So they will cut production and if It doesn't get the price up they will call another emergency meeting and cut production more, and more.... That will go on and on till they get the price to where they want It. They know they have us by the "B _ _ ls"... So get used to the price, I say it will always stay around 2.50 a gallon.... Better than 3.50 a gallon, but then the media will use their usual excuses about world-wide threats.. You know what If this happens and what if that happens.... Seems like a pretty good reason to me!!!!! Just being a little sarcastic......Enjoy whatever "Break" you get, because It will always be a temporary thing... Thanks Opec!

As far as the slow down of fuel production, absolutely not true, if you care to do a little research.

Why do people continue to believe the Big Corporation conspiracy theories, when EVERY investigation, every noted authority and every credentialed article proves that it is not so (one article was even posted on this forum explaining the costs and/or recent price reductions)? I guess it's easier to blame it on someone else than to admit we are petroleum "pigs".

Yes we are petro pigs!! But you heard about an investigation that was on the news? so that has to be true?? And the investigation was ran by (the government) So that has to be true as well?? and this is an election year???HMmmmmmm Prices are set by politics and who backs the right people at the right time!! as soon as elections are over the price is gonna rocket right back up!!! What big oil dosnt want to make money??? while they plaster every where record breaking profits !!?? no they wouldnt think of doin any thing less than honorable!! tell us there is a shortage so they have to pay more and pass the cost to the consumer but they arent paying more see thats how they make the record BREAKING PROFITS!

Let's see. You do understand basic math, right?

10% profit of $30.00/barrel = $3.00
10% profit of $60.00/barrel = $6.00

Understand, I'm not saying the Big Corporations are doing what is right. I'm just saying most people's logic for the profits, is wrong. Doesn't seem to hard to figure out where the bigger profits are coming from.

Also, the "political" logic people are using, is fuzzy.
Because the 2 political parties can't seem to agree on anything, how can anyone say the it's because the elections are coming up? Neither of the parties could agree on a conspiracy.

Now you might say the current administration is behind the conspiracy and the prices will increase after the election. But, isn't most polls at this time, putting the minority party in favor after the election. So, maybe THEY are responsible for the current reduction to gain more favorable votes.

oldschoolfreak...you need to do some research. You're letting emotion interfere with logic and judgement. All I'm saying is show me the evidence.

There has been several federal government investigations and almost 14 (a couple are still being conducted) individual state attorney general investigations. There has been numerous articles by noted journalists who have investigated the issue and also a number of noted publications, ALL have found no evidence.

Now, as I posted in other "debates" on this subject, I am a stock market trader. And, with a slight amount of "blush" on my part, I'm quite good at it (I am successful enough to at least pay cash for a car every year and take a number of vacations). A lot of the inflated pricing witnessed several months to a year ago, was because of guys like me...trading in "futures" (not all of it, but a lot). Read trade publications or stock publications...they will all tell you the same thing.

Refinery's are another part of the story.

I'm stopping here. We are off the thread topic. if you want to banter this more and invite other members to join in...start a thread regading the topic.

I will write one other note here...OPEC did not exist until WE (Henry Kissenger) encouraged them to start a cartel. And, that is another story as well.

We seem to have a gas war of sorts in my area or a confused bunch of retailers. Gas in the morning is $2.24-$2.25, and $2.19-$2.18 at these three stations at the exit where I get on the Interstate. Of the evenings the prices were $2.19-$2.19 at all three. This happened three or four times in the past week. I go to work of the evenings at 0700pm, and return next morning at 0700am. Now come on, why do these prices flucuate soo much? At a Speedway in town it is really up and down like this. $2.24 in the morning, $2.18 in the evening. this has happened two mornings straight. While 35 miles north, the prices have went from $2.10 to $2.15 in one week. The lowest I've seen it here has been $2.09. That's about the best in West Virginia soo far, These are prices along I-77 also.

I only use Shell V-Power (91 Premium), and filled up today for $2.49/gal.

That is the 1st time I've seen (premium) gas under $2.50 so far here.

It got down to $2.11 here but it seems to have stalled out now for several days. With OPEC finally deciding to cut production looks like the party might be over for us! (Not that even $2.00 a Gal. is really anything to jump up and down about!!)
