k, just felt the need to share my heart attack with everyone. after several months of waiting for my girls salli mae tuition check to come in we finally recieved it, dropped it off at the bank thurs for its 11 day hold (20k check so no insta deposit) and thought all was golden. my girl called me and said that my debit card was rejected for her oil change. confused i looked up my account online, i deposited my check the other day and so had something like 2k without the tuition check. my current balance is.............
i think im gonna be sick...

somebody made a bigtime mistake at the bank. and since its saturday night i have no way of contacting anyone or retrieving any funds until at least monday... somebody hates me

 

Holy batsheets batman...that really bites. I would definitely have a heart attack too. I would presume you found all this out after the bank closed today too. (Most of ours are open until noon on Saturday)

So what happened with the oil change? Hopefully someone had some cash laying around for that.

 

yeah i didnt find out till about 20 mins ago. she was on her way to dinner with her mother so, her mom had to pony up. so i am stuck, cashless until at least monday when we can hopefulle figure out which idiot hit the wrong keys when logging deposits.

 

I had that happen on a Saturday once. Someone was using my debit card number around the country. But even though it was a Saturday night I was able to contact the bank security folks and the put a stop on the card right away.

 

I deposited an $18K check I received when refinancing my house. I went into the bank to make sure nothing went wrong. I made the mistake of talking to the clerk while she was working. She entered the account info wrong and I didn't find out until I checked my account online several weeks later. The account they posted it to had even more money so I guess they weren't watching their amount closely either. I'm not sure if I ever got credited for all the interest I lost but at least I got my money back!

 

i'm sure i will get it all straightened out on monday morning, its just a true pain to have to go an entire weekend without a dime. I keep zero cash on me so i cant even stop for a coke on the way to work

the only plastic i keep is my debit card. got into trouble with credit cards once and wont ever go back down that road again. I like only having my mortgage, equity note and my car loan. at one time was into cards for about 8k. got that all paid off and closed and been trying to keep it that way for 3 years now. altho an emergency card would have really came in handy over the weekend.

but i called the bank today and all they had to say was; "yeah we made a mistake, keep an eye on your account as it may happen daily until the check clears." then they hung up!! no sorry, no my fault no kiss my a$$, nothing.......... so as soon as it clears im pulling all the funds and switching banks. just not to 5/3, they are the devil.
