2011 Kia Sportage - turbo
[QUOTE=JeramieJJ;500140]I wouldn't say your getting "more", your just getting the "money applied for build" placed in a different area. QUOTE]
I guess you can look at it that way.......but that works for me.
Again, I am not looking for speed and perf anymore anyway......and the Juke is plenty torquey.......if needed......

I saw a Chevy Cruze in person yesterday. It has a really sharp interior, and a nice exterior (looks sort of like a sized down Malibu, but better). But what's with the supposed turbo engine in the Cruze? It gets only 2 HP more than the base engine. What's the point? I guess the torque is boosted by 25 FPs. But even with a turbo, the car is sllllllooooooowwwwwwwww. Put the 2.0L turbo in the Cruze and I'll buy it tomorrow!
Powertrains and Performance
The Cruze LS is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-4 that makes 136 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque. The LT and LTZ (as well as the Cruze LS Eco) come with a turbocharged 1.4-liter inline-4 that generates 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. The LS/LS Eco comes with a six-speed manual while the other trims come with a six-speed automatic (optional on the LS/LS Eco).
Acceleration estimates for either engine put the 0-60-mph dash between 9 and 10 seconds, about average for the class. Though official EPA fuel economy estimates were not yet available at the time of this writing, Chevrolet estimates that the Eco model with a manual transmission will get up to 40 mpg on the highway.

Note GMPD is working on a SS version that is expected in and about a rear. The 2.0 engine will re appear in several HP levels in the next two years. It will be available soon in a 225 HP Regal and Regal GS with anywhwere from 255 HP-290 HP
You have to remember that the performance cars make up less than 5% of what people really buy.
More Tourque and more MPG. The Cruze is not a performance car in present form. It is not all about HP.

This is exactly the point. it's a replacement of the cobalt. Pure and simple. Time will tell if it's leaps better. I did look at it, and it's a nice car. It does nothing for me but still a nice car.
This is really the issue, instead of making a lesser model, etc......put the money and efforts into cost savings on the fuel efficient, performance vehicle and bring its price down to the entry level price tag. Would be great, but alas, will never be. The "masses" can not handle a performance car in ill climates......they need the snail engine to stay in a straight line.
