611 Chase Vehicle
For those of you that are interested the Norfolk and Western J611 will be back under steam in operation for the first time since 1994. She will arive in Roanoke on May 30. If anyone is interested go to fireup611.org. My HHR is going to make a nice chase vehicle.

I'll be taking a lot of photos. I am planning on chasing it from North Carolina where it was restored to Roanoke. If anyone is interested let me know and I will post the return route as soon as I can verify it.

Hmm...York next weekend, Concord in May, and Roanoke with 611.
We'll be bumping into each other everywhere Ron, any plans to head west to catch up with U.P. 844 when she returns to service this summer, or to see 4014 the Big Boy in 2016?
For those here who aren't train nuts along with being car nuts, here's #844 and #4014.
#844 was delivered to the Union Pacific on Christmas Day 1944, and she's the only steam locomotive to never be retired since new, 70 years old with 4,900,000 miles under her wheels and counting.
#4014 was built During WWII for the Union Pacific, the Big Boys are the largest steam locomotives ever built.
