and discussions of what people may look for in their next car when it comes time to replace their HHR I have yet to have seen a car that struck my fancy until today. Sitting at the dealership getting some warranty work done for a bad foglight housing I was skimming through car and driver and saw this:





The 2012 VW Bettle. That may be the one. Has some of the same characeristics of the HHR with the fenders. Redesigned to sit lower and wider. I like!

It doesn't really seem that much different than the current beetle. (besides the tail lights) I'd the VW Beetle is probably as "unique" as the HHR anyway...

 

The hood seems a little flatter that the current beetle, No?

 

Yes looks that way 2 me..

 

Looks a bit more aggressive but being a beetle they are kind of forced to keep the same design cues, wouldn't do any good to slap the name on something without the beetle "look".

 

It's a whole new car - clean slate as far as the body goes.

 

And the roof.

 

It reminds me of a mash up between an Audi TT and an old Kharman Ghia. Not bad looking.

 

Certainly better than the current beetle..... those things are fugly.

 

no man should drive a beetle just a personal opinion.
