IMHO the best thing to do is ask the service advisor to listen to the noise and road test it with you to verify they hear what you hear. Then I would simply ask him/her to please road test or listen to it after the repairs to make sure they are fixed. If the repairs take more then one business day they need to furnish you with a rental. GM pays $39 per day. Being nice goes a long way toward a healthy relationship with the service advisor.

Used to be a time when you could work in a factory and not have to justify earning a living wage and benefits for your family. This work is as hot, heavy, and dangerous as any factory job out there. There's no reason in the world why a good day's work for a quality product shouldn't be amply compensated. Problem is we just don't respect the blue collar anymore and the elevation and elitism of the white collar upper-middle class is demanding the disappearance of the lower-middle class.

AAM could be like the Briggs and Stratton plant down here that pays their workers $7 an hour and has a revolving door of felons and temps waiting for their disability claims to come in building a product that keeps falling behind in quality year after year. If your workers can't feed their families and keep a roof over their heads, they have no incentive to do anything for you.

What this country needs to do is reign in the debt. Once we end the rape of the American economy by the loan sharking banking industry, then we will get this country and our economy back on track.

 

I just made the comment over on GMI, that I would gladley do the job for $13.00 to $14.00/hr and be happy. And you know that "Pablo" or "Wang" ( NO OFFENSE) would be even happier to do it for a cheaper price!!!

 

I'm not offended. Wang is already doing one heck of a job as evidenced by the rise of disposable imports on the road.

 

Wow, I didn't think the original post would generate such a wide range of emotions. I was only posting it because of the connection to the Cobalt axles (and probably the HHR's too) and the length of the strike at this point. I think the two sides are at extremes, $70.00/hr vs $14.00/hr somewhere in the middle should be fair...
