Who was the brain trust that decide that fast food joints, hair cut points, etc have to ask for your name when you order?
(The most annoying unnecessary and intrusive practice now going..... I refuse to give info to any of them..... and they look offended when I tell them, "No. I don't need to give you my name to order a burger.... No I don't need to give you my personal info so you can put me in your customer data base to get my hair cut." I told the girl at Great Clip to just make up a name when I went in there a few weeks ago... her manager told me , "We can't do that sir, we have to have your name to put you in our computer". I looked her right in the eye and told her "No you don't... I stay off the junk mail, spam and call lists this way". She told me she had to have my name. I walked out. Fast food joints print an order number on your receipt. I tell them to use that as my name. Am I the only one that this practice bugs? I really am thinking of having a t-shirt made that reads "It's fast food. Don't ask for my name and I won't call you an idiot"... That or send a rant into the paper as an op-ed)
