Any California Realtors Around Here?
Howdy Y'all,
I'm just wondering if there are any California realtors in this forum. In particular I'm wondering if there are any that might be familar with the Santa Cruz/Monterey area. I'm looking at purchasing a vacation property and would like to pick someones brain about it. I'm from Canada so I know little about the real estate process (especially the foreclosure market) in the US.
If anyone is able to help a bit that would be awesome.
Mike

I drove up to Monterey today from OC for a conference (6 hours, 400 miles--Blackie was covered in bugs!
). I have a nice view of an empty pool. I can tell you, having lived in the Bay area for 12 years, it is still a bit pricey around this area.
But it is gorgeous...good luck!

A couple of friends and I are thinking about picking up something that we can use as a vacation home down there. We're thinking that the early part of 2009 should be a good time, I've heard the market should bottom out in a year or two (but what do speculators know.)
I figure it should be a pretty sound investment and something that we wouldn't lose any money on and it would give me a chance to live down in Cali for about a month every year.

There isn't much that you can lose money on anywhere in the U.S. if you can manage to hang onto it for a few years from now. The market is in the toilet right now. It's definitely a buyer's market. Makes me wish I would have waited a few years before buying the house I am currently in, however I wouldn't have been able to sell the previous one either.
