Just looking for a new toy and am curious if anyone else on the board flys. I am a beginner and dont wanna break the bank on my first plane so I am going to go electric, then move up to a gas trainer. If you fly post up whatcha got and pics are always welcome too!

Oh yeah, there's a few of us around here. Well, not so much me. I have a blade CX2 with some mods that I can crash pretty good. I have it set up with a wireless video camera, but I haven't been able to get a flight of that yet. Soon... the weather's getting better.

I have a Pitts S2A biplane and an F/A 18E Super Hornet EDF jet. Also I fly a Blade CP Pro Heli. All are electric with brushless motors and Li-Po batteries. I fly whenever the weather cooperates, which hasn't been too much lately. It is one addictive hobby I'll tell ya. Here is a pic of my planes.

Here is a link from the site I bought mine from.

No, it would not make a very good first plane at all. Way too fast. I actually learned on the Pitts I have now. I also have many hours on a simulator that prepared me quite well for actual flying. I highly recommend a sim. You can get an FMS Simulator very cheep form E-bay (around $20) with everything you need. You can also download tons of planes for free once you have it. The software is free, you are just paying for the controller that is basically a transmitter. After you are familiar with orientation, the rest will fall into place very quickly. The nice thing about a sim is you can learn how to pull out of bad situations without crashing your plane. Do it enough so it is second nature and you will be fine. But one thing with flying, there are going to be crashes lol.

Very cool planes you have there. I have been thinking of scratch building a foam plane, but haven't worked up the guts to try it yet. My Brother-in-law has built a couple and did a great job. Looks like a great start on the A-10. I'm guessing it will be a ducted fan?

I have been flying and building for about 10 years.

Here is a picture of a 40% sized Edge 540 I built for a friend last winter.

And here is a picture of another Edge 540 i'm in the process of completing. This ones 35% in size and it will be my IMAC completion plane for the Summer.
