I have a Blade CX2 that I can crash really well 
, but like Jeff, the weather is getting better and I hope to be able to get some more flight time in soon. 
I started out on RC cars/trucks both electric and Nitro, and 2 and 4 wheel drive and with the new technology, electric is definitely a great way to get started, but nothing beats Nitro
Kind of like the difference between the LS and the SS 
Some of my favorite Electrics (1/18th scale):
My favorite Nitro 4WD (1/8th scale) very big, very expensive to fix:
