Apple has recently upsetted me
But you know.......this is kind of like the longer powertrain warranty, which started on the 2007 HHR. MANY members here and on other forums, who owned the 2006's, complained about not getting that warranty.
Manufacturer's can't satisfy EVERYONE.
My advise is to keep bi*****g, MAYBE it will help.

Well I will say this...
I am an MCSE 2003 + Messaging (Microsoft Certified Engineer with Exchange)
I work on Microsoft products everyday. I support them.
I also have an iPhone and a MacBook Pro that I use for recording. I bought my iPhone 2 days before the price dropped. I was willing to pay the $600 bucks for the phone. They dropped the price, I got a refund. Easy Peasy.
Apple support is awesome. There is nothing like it on the PC side (except for me :) )
also IMHO the iPhone is the best phone I have ever had...
as far as the iTouch and the upgrade..it's not jsut Apple. I bought Adobe Premiere/Photoshop elements a few months back. Bought the full retail package. 2 months later they came out with a new version. The upgrade price is about $20 cheaper than the full price...

How about, if you want it use it....if you don't don't......don't ***** after you bought something you wanted and the price changed. This isn't about the iwhatever, it is about any product. Someone is constantly upgrading or changing everything we buy. Life goes on and we will buy the next big thing, then when it comes out we begin the gripe all over again.
People have been very quick to blame Apple for things like this. Usually because Apple products do come at a premium price. But what happens with Apple products is no different than any other company. For example, I recently switched my mobile phone service to Helio and took advantage of their new member pricing and $50 rebate to get their top-of-the-line phone, the Ocean. Regularly $349, I got it for $249 with new service. Had a mail-in rebate of $50. 2 days later, my partner goes to switch service too, and pays $199 for the phone, out the door. It was just a matter of timing that one got a better deal than the other. Do I harbor any ill feelings towards Helio? No. I'll get my rebate in 6-8 weeks and it'll be "found money." My only other comment is: You bought an iTouch version of the iPod -- why do you feel it should have iPhone applications and components? If you wanted those, you should have bought the iPhone. The iTouch (and yes, I own one) came clearly marked with what it came loaded with and what it did as a device. No one misled you into thinking it would do more. Just my opinion, and, like a**holes, everyone has one -- some just stink more than others.
Prices change, that's part of life. You buy something at the store and a week later it goes on sale, you don't go back demanding to get the better price... Well most of us don't. Apple didn't have to give anything to those who bought the iPhone at the higher price, even if people complained, but they still did. I don't see many other companies doing that.
I bought an iMac, then the price went down, it happens, I didn't demand Apple give me a rebate, it's part of life. And you are really complaining about a $20 upgrade? I understand that some people can't just shell out $20 whenever they want, but you stated you have the iTouch, which is at least $300. If you can spend $300 on something I think you can spend $20 on an upgrade. Is it fair? No... Welcome to life.

In all reality, they know about lowered prices weeks, or even months before it comes into effect... Apple (or any other company) just doesn't lower the prices of their products on a whim.
My general rule is whenever I buy something directly from the manufacturer, I always ask them if there is any rebates available or if they will be discounting the product soon... and then I make my decision based on their answers.
We, as consumers have to look out for ourselves... they certainly don't.

I love apple products (3 ipods, Macbook Pro, 12" powerbook) but I really wish they would have released the iPhone supporting a CDMA company like sprint or verizon. I just think CDMA networks are faster for transferring internet data. But I understand why they use GSM since most the world uses it, Besides us and japan.

According to online sources the reason that they dont make iphone users pay for software updates is because the pricing for it is built into your wireless contract. every month 10 bucks of your payment goes to apple for software updates. theres no service contract so therefore you have to pay for software updates. im a apple user myself and their customer service is second to none in the computer world that i have experienced so far.
Apple has a fantastic marketing department.
Other than that, I don't see any real reason to pay the extra cash for their products.
As far as support, if you are using hi tech gadgets, you should take the time to kearn enough about them to do basic maintenance yourself. How many here actually use the automatic defrag scheduler?
I've been using Linux for 5 years now, so I get to use low cost generic PC hardware with a stable, and free OS. It's not for everyone- yet- but having used a few older Macs and looking at the new ones I see no need to spend the $$$.
I have an Ipod Nano that was a gift from my wife's employer (She couldn't figure out how to work it) and to be honest, I could do the same thing with a $39 Sansa MP3 player.
