Aveo anyone?

The last couple times I've been in Mexico, I've gotten the Aveo as a rental. The latest has 83,000km on it (about 50,000 miles) and is still surprisingly tight, especially considering how bad some of the roads are here. For a car that is often advertised for $8999 in the Detroit area, i'm rather surprised how well it holds up.

Would make a nice second car, IMHO.

I might consider an Aveo if anything "Major" might befall our HHR. But as of right now we'll be keeping it for many years. It's just past 5 Years old now with only about 22,000 miles on it. 99% of our driving is just around town, so an Aveo could do the same job I suppose.

My cousin has been driving an Aveo hatch for 3 years while he saves up money for his Camaro he has been wanting. I have drove it and it is a great economy car. It isn't a typical economy car, imo. If I had been looking at any subcompact cheap economy car, the Aveo would be the one I would buy. Although, I would buy the sedan.

Yeah, I was really expecting a crapbox. This time I got the sedan, a trunk is nice. Roomier inside than I expected. Way better than a Smart car, for less money.

That was the first thing I thought of when I jumped in it. But it is a lot better improvement over previous compacts by GM.

I was really tempted on the Aveo when I had $3500 on my GM card and there was $1000 GM loyalty. The stripped down car was around $10,000 - $4500. It was a steal. I figured I still had to drive it for three or four years, so I bought what I wanted, which was the HHR (dealer invoice). Got a bargain and still think I made the right decision.

I went a little more pricey and the wife got a 2011 Fiesta... but you can get a stripped down sedan version for low teens.
