What do you think? Shound GM drop the Aveo name hoping to distance the new model from the less thrilling old one or save their money for something else. I personally think they should keep their name. If the product is better then it will speak for itself and people will gain faith in GM once again. To me this is like when they decided to take the GM chicklets off their models

Shoot, GM has a long history of dropping model names when a newer one replaces it.

Now that does wonders for brand recognition!

GM is dumb, period! Long history of that has led to the gummint owning most of it. Between the two, I doubt it will change.

It's just a matter of time until some Korean, Chinese, or other company owns GM as one of their brand names.

 

Are the pictures from the Paris show, the production version of the new Aveo? If so, I like it, though I could see the headlights being a terrible design. They look great, however without a plastic housing protecting the lights, imagine the bugs you will have creamed inside and around those lights and black housing. It's bad enough cleaning out bugs from the HHR fog light openings (if you have the black plugs and no fogs).

 

Maybe it will only be available in black with a white interior.
