That's about right if you divide 700 billion dollars by the mortgages that are out there.

I don't understand this part of the bill:

Sec. 319. Extension of work opportunity tax credit for Hurricane Katrina employees.

Since when did Katrina start hiring people?

Actually, this whole thing I don't understand. Does this give money to people who stopped paying their loans and allow them to keep their houses for free (well, paid for by you and me taxpayer, thank you.)? Cause I want in on that racket. I'm tired of renting.

Or does this mean people that stopped paying their loans still lose their home, but this gives money to banks to cover those defaulted loans so the bank is out nothing? (Except you and me taxpayer who are out $700 million dollars, thank you.)

I'm sure what this bill actually does is even less palatable.

Little Off Topic. Now CA wants help from you and me because there 7 Billion in the Hole. WTF?!?! Anyone want to Bail Me and my Fiancee out of 70k in Student loans for nothing, cause she can't find a job due to economy in the Crapper.

Apparently paying your bills and living some what within your means and keeping a good Credit Rating is point-less? I sure screwed up.
