Horseshoe Lounge in Johnson City, TN has the best burgers (at least they used to, I haven't been in a while). They use 11 ounces of meat, and it takes 20 minutes to grill one. The atmosphere isn't great, but the food makes up for it.

Also, there's a regional fast food chain in this are called Pal's. They have a great burger called the "Big Pal", plus a bunch of other good stuff.
