For whatever reason, in the early 1970’s I spent a lot of time riding a dirt bike up and down the sand bars along and in and out of the basin of the Kansas River. Sometimes with friends sometimes alone. Most places the river sits down 10-15 feet below the surrounding terrain and you can’t see anything that’s man made, except the bike of course. One thing that always stuck with me, is the quietness of the river after the noise of the motorcycle ceased. There was nothing moving but the river and the wind. Kinda corny but it takes me to a good place. My name is Rick.
