OH boy, that does not look good. But....I'll bet it was fun while it lasted. That usually happens just after it starts running good. Good Luck.

It's been a long time since I worked on one of those cars (I had a 66 SS and a 69 SS) and kind of forgot the amount of steel they used back then. the front frame clip on your car probably has more steel in it then all the steel in a HHR.

It's funny, because back then a motor swap was maybe a one day affair, start to finish. Now days you can spend the better part of the day just trying to figure out how to get the wire connectors apart.

Just curious, what has been done to the 327 going back in? You realize that a lot of NHRA SS racers would love to get their hands on a 327 these days, as they are becoming quite rare. Good luck with the project and let us know how it works out.

Well its a 67 small journal steel crank, heavy duty rods, fordged 11:1 flat top pistons (if it had the 64 cc heads that it came with factory) but i went with a set of 72 cc heads (461`s i believe) with 2:02 steel valves so i think it dropped it to like 9.5 or 10:1, new 1.6 roller rockers and stud girdles.heavy duty oil pump double roller chain and gears and i think a 280 magnum cam.
was told buy the builder should be around 375 hp.
just a real peppy little motor with an M22 4 speed with 11 inch clutch behind it and 3:73`s out back.

heres what its goin in
