Bye Bye HHR

Hey everyone. I parted ways with my HHR. It was definitely a fun experience because I learned so damn much along the way. Originally purchased as a cool hatch to carry my bikes around, it turned into a hobby I did not at all expect. So many firsts, from simple bolt ons, to installing a supercharger, building an engine, tuning a car and lastly driving it like I stole it. In the end, all the work I did to it was undone. I pulled all my after market parts off bought a lower mileage engine and swapped them out. I sat at the dealership when I was trading it in staring out the window at it trying to make sure this is what I wanted to do, but my test drive in my new Solstice GXP easily confirmed it. Now I am starting over again, with that same passion and way more experience of what to and not to do. I almost felt like I molested my HHR, with all the modifications I did to it. I spent more time tinkering than having fun with it out on the road. I was never quite satisfied for some reason. I have been thinking about getting a Solstice for over two years. Test drove a base model Sol last fall, but just couldn't pull the trigger and I am glad I didn't. My idea at the time was to get a 2.4l Sol and swap engines/parts so I had a SC'd Solstice. But then I'd be in the same boat where: I wanna drive it, but I've gotta to this or I've gotta to that. In the end I decided to get one that I wouldn't have to tinker with to make good power. This time around I am just going to drop the Solstice off at the dealer for the staged upgrade and call it done. I am going try and suppress that side of me that wants to pull stuff apart to see how it works as this car has some different goodies.

This is my new ride:

2007 Solstice GXP with almost every option. Waited for a few months and finally found one that was mint with only 4,400 miles on the ticker.

Sorry to see another HHR burble off into the sunset, but that's a sharp little "Tin Indian" you found.

Don't be a stranger, keep in touch with us OK.

Right about that. Before winter I will be picking up a beater.

LOL those wheels look familiar to me now!

I live very close to the dealership that crate engine depot works from so this week I am having them install the gm stage kit with the nice harnesses they have so no splicing wires. The Solstice sees an 80ft lb gain with that tune bringing it up to 340 for manual.

Nice ride
I always like the Solstice especially the ones with the LNF 2.0 turbo motor like yours.
Some day when I dont need more than three seats I would not mind picking one up.
I really do like the HHR ss though
Dont be a stranger you basically have an HHR ss Convertible minus seats and hatchback.
Tom at Crate Engine Depot rockenback chevy is very helpful with the GMTU kits.
I believe they are up to 400 installations already.

have fun and done be a stranger

So someone with an HHR will be like, "over here, I'll take you" and he goes home alone.
