That's too bad, but the writing has been in the cards for sometime. Having a magazine one can hold, and thumb thru, sure feels better than staring at a computer screen and clicking away.

I finally got rid of my collection of various car/motorcycle/computer/photography magazines just a few years back (some went back to 1970 or so). I just wasn't looking at them anymore, and they were gathering dust, and I could not find anyone that wanted them. Not even the local hospital wanted any (I took in one box of them, and it was obvious they were taking them only begrudgingly).

I tried recycling them, but the garbage men *****ed that they were too heavy for them, and wanted them tied with twine in small bundles??????
So they ended up in the dumpster for the landfill (which is where they would have ended up via the recycling truck - so go figure).

Yea this is sad. I grew up with some those like Car Craft and Super Chevy. But it's been a long time coming. I subscribed to Motor Trend for many years and then switched to digital some years back. Far more convenient and no clutter. I got rid of my print collection long before digital became a thing. Just no place to put them. I'm back to physical Motor Trend only because every year I get a free subscription for buying Milwaukee Auto Show tickets. At least all this stuff is still going to be online.

Every time I pass magazine section in my grocery store, I keep thinking, what a waste of resources. Thankfully it will be little bit less of that. Good news!

I fully understand the reasoning for the close out, but a publishing company, strip it to the bare minimum and close it out . Many newspapers have faced that fate, it is still a sad situation. Now I’ll never know how that flathead project ended up!

Sad to hear there is no internet replacement for those mags. I grew up reading several of them.
