If the price was more like $4000-$5000, it'd be a great car for tubbing out and running pro-street. No desirable stock options and the fact that it's not a '67 (year one) or '69 (most desirable year) combined with a 2-speed powerglide (which can be rebuilt to run quite nicely at the strip), makes it a good candidate for the sawzall. Tub the car out, throw a 9-inch under the rear, put a marine block 454 under the hood, and rebuild that powerglide and you'll have a nice beast indeed!

from my experience with first gen camaros the 68 is more desirable than the 67.
a good clean no wreck, bondo or rotted 68 camaro around illinois would fetch 9-13 k with or without the motor a clean one running 15 easy!
as for how much bondo and if it has had qrters replaced etc. all depends on the work etc..
I bought my 69 12 yrs ago for 4000 with a weak 305/350 replaced it with a fresh 375hp 350/350 and a posi and drove it for 10 yrs and sold it for almost 12 ,5 yrs ago
