I think, if Im correct, can be claimed up to the age of 23 if in college... if laws haven't changed since that time.

My daughter (18) gets her own check, because she is 18, and filed her own taxes the past 2 years, even though I claim her as a dependent. She was at college for 4 months last year, and literally got all her withholdings back, so this is a nice windfall for her. Something like a bonus that amounts to over 20% of your 2019 earnings.

As for me, I am fine with it. In theory, it's less money we need to send her.. In theory.

Regardless, we end up with more this way than the $500 per kid would have been. Our son (15) is still on our rolls.

If they live at home, don't work and don't file taxes and still in college they qualify, BUT if they file taxes you cant claim them and they get their own chunk of change.

This was sent out and it has info on non filers and qualifying statuses.... you have to click the non filer enter info to see the list. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/non-...ment-info-here

Payments started going out on the 9th for filers, 20th for Social Security and disability. The link also helps the IRS to get your direct deposit info if not on file for faster service.

Well, least yours is pending.. That's encouraging. And it's $500. she wouldn't have had prior.
