That's either an old airport shuttle service car or it belonged to a hotel/resort at one time. Back before the 15 passenger vans that they use today, we're talking the 70's back to the 20's, hotels/lodges/resorts and later airports had these to transport small groups of travelers. As is the case with everyone I've ever run across, the roof rack is not only functional as a place to carry luggage, but its a structural addition to keep the car from snapping in the middle.

Checker Motors made them in their factory and they are the ones most people remember, but Hess & Eisenhart among other coach builders would also convert Chryslers, Cadillacs, Pontiacs, and the occasional Chevy too. Here's a copy of an old Checker ad showing the Checker Aerobus.

I am still waiting on a six door wagon to go on the market...

I think it would make a great people carrier.

Imagine the Flex a foot longer with 2 smaller back doors.

That particular one I posted is a '68 Chrysler Newport Town & Country - it's in pretty good shape, too.

Judging by the workmanship I can see and the general configuration of the modifications, I'm guessing it was either done by the Richard Brothers Coach Builders or Sayers & Scoville. Its a rare beast that deserves saving instead of rotting in a field.

While taking a smoke break at work today, a beautiful Ferrari 308 GTB drove by. (The car of my dreams when I was younger) It was nice to see a Ferrari here in Wisconsin. I have to say it made my day better after seeing it.

I don't think it's abandoned. Just being parked there. The micro-brewery that apparently owns it was next door.

I see Don Garlits Swamp Rat 32 daily at work does that count?

We also have the Earnhardt Bud car, UPD Jarret and Bush Sharpie cars at work too.

I will never forget going into the warehouse one day and finding Garlits car just sitting there. I never expected that.
