Simple enough, see you already have the outlet. If it were me, I would tap into a hot wire that shuts off with the key.

And of course add an appropriate sized fuse for safety.

Yep, I have an inline fuse. I had this stuff from doing stereos and whatever on other cars... leftover junk LOL Just trying to figure out which wire to use and whether to drill a hole in the console or mount it elsewhere to remove ( in case of warranty issue) ?

Normally I'd say remove the 4 dash bolts & gently ease it back to see how much room you are working with to drill a hole for it. But warranty makes me think twice.
Any issue, 1st thing that becomes suspect is something aftermarket. I would think of a temp mount location, that would leave no evidence when removed while warranty is in effect.

At any rate, the key, or the solenoid for a hot wire when key is on only. Test light will help here. I'm sure you have one.

yes I do, electrical isn't rocket science to me, but sometimes a spark will wake me up LOL But yes I agree with finding a hot that's live with key on so not to accidentally run down the battery. Im gonna fish around the net for some ideas as well.
