Danica Patrick - first woman open-wheel winner

A long time in coming - Danica Patrick won the Indy Japan 300 at Twin Ring Motegi racetrack in Tokyo to become the first woman to win in a major open-wheel racing circuit.

I've been a fan since her first Indy 500. I actually think this is going to be good for open-wheel racing: raising its profile above the "boys-only" argument that motorsports fall into. What do y'all think?

I watched it.........She gambled and won.
She led a total of 3 laps because everybody else ran out of Ethanol.....
She is good..........but.........I personally don't think she is getting the best car!

It's great, but do you think anyone would care if she wasn't hot?

Now THAT'S a great quote...

And quite true...

I sure wouldn't want to see Brittney Spears or Paris Hilton on the tracks...

I would love to see Danica in NASCAR. Talk about fan base. She might even rival Jr. for fans.
