We live in a pretty small town and have a Chevy/Cadillac dealer and a Buick/GMC/Pontiac dealer. Hoping our Chevy dealer is not on the list. Otherwise it will be at least a 30 mile drive to the next one

My problem is that my dealer is a small town local guy on the outskirts of town. Low volume, great service dealer. The other dealers are all big boys with one being owned by a very well known dealer/race car owner. They all have great locations, great showrooms and service departments and give terrible service on both the sales and service side of the house.

Which do you think is going to be shut down with 5 dealers in the area and only 1 is an independent?

The article was written April 28, 2009 so the 1,000 to 1,200 dealerships closing today meaning April 28 not today, today.

What?!?!? Zehnder Chevrolet isn't on there! That's where I bought mine, and they already had their cars repossessed... But maybe that means they are already closed, I don't know...

Interesting

Again, the local guys are being shut down or hurt here in Charleston and the big boy stays.
