It was announced today that 11 Chrysler dealerships will be permantly closed in the St. Louis region by the first week of June 2009.

They will also permantly be closing both the North and South Chrysler Assembly plants in SW St. Louis County as well where they made Dodge Trucks and Chysler minivans.

No specific GM dealerships listed yet but already know quite a few GM dealerships in the area that went under in the last year already.

The latest......

GM spokeswoman Susan Garontakos said the company will not make public a list of dealers to be cut, leaving the decision to release information to individual business owners.
Looks like everyone will have to wait and see empty lots to know if their local dealers survive the cuts.

And most won't be telling their employees. They will be open until the franchise agreements expire at the end of September 2010. Of course some will go down due to financil problems before that time as has already been happening for the last 10 months.

what really is terrible, is they are not going to repurchase the vehicles.
Chrysler will not repurchase parts, and GM will only repurchase a few

so once again the dealer gets screwed by the parent company.
