Donbrew status report

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to report in.

On Sept 7, 2015 I was afflicted with viral meningitis which left me totally paralyzed and mentally out of it. On Oct. 30 I was well enough to go to a rehab hospital, I expect to be sent home Dec.3.

I now have the use, to a limited degree, of both arms and my right leg. I can stand up with assistance, but no walking. I fatigue very quickly.

This is the second time around with this same disease; I had the same thing when I was 12 years old (50 years ago), but recovered enough to at least walk with a limp.

Oh, in he diagnosing process they found 1 completely blocked coronary artery and 1 70% blocked, the docs decided there was no use operating.

We've been worried sick about you Don, you'll bounce back from this, because youre one tough cookie Buddy.

Now listen to the rehab Docs, and we'll be here for you and your family. So if there's anything at all we can do for you, just sing out my friend.

You have been missed more than you'll ever know, I've got over a hundred PM's and counting asking about how you're doing.

I've been gone a while, and am saddened to hear this. Keep on chuggin', Don! One day at a time. We miss you, and hope for the best in a tough situation.

I got home on Friday 12/4/15! Now adjusting to life in a wheelchair and needing help to do the most basic things.

I got on Medicaid, so most of the $500,000 in medical bills will get paid. Don't get sick!

So glad to hear you're home Buddy.

Time heals and being in your own home is the best medicine there is, I know I don't need to tell you, but if you need anything at all...just sing out OK.
