Yeah, I would've hidden their stuff. That would have been hilarious. Were the ladder removable, I would remove the ladder, too. But I understand it's probably attached to the building.

Believe it or not, sore shoulder not withstanding... you did the right thing.
Taking the bikes, shooting the kids with a paintgun, shooting the bike, all would`ve escalated the situation (IMHO), and your next thread probably would be about you ride being damaged while you were at work...
Maybe even paintballed...
I don`t think I (as a parent) would look/feel too kindly at anyone who shot one of my kids, period. And that is the lightened up version of what I`d be saying.

Isn't Florida a wonderful state? Just make sure you don't go on private property without being invited. That is, if the owner has a gun!

Chizzer.....

I think you jeopardized the safety of the kids and could have been help accountable if something happened.

You yelled and scared those kids. If one suffered a heart attack, at that moment, you would have be guilty. What if they were so scared, one fell off the roof/ladder, after you yelled at them? What if one jumped on his bike and in an effort to get away, he was struck by some kind of vehicle?? What if lightening struck them while on the ladder??

You did right Chizzer. Probably your only other alternative, was to call the police, and let them handle it....totally. It ws your choice and you made it.

I am amazed that no one usually comments on parental accountability with misbehaving children!

Forgive me for assuming this but I think you and I grew up in an age where if a store owner or a cop smacked me in the head and I went home and told my Dad what happened, I got smacked again as I must have been doing something that I should not have been doing
