Agreed.......^^^^^^
But getting 70-100 miles from the lithium isn't MUCH better....especially with the increased cost!!
I had fun with the EV, but couldn't get use to turning a key, pushing a switch and not hearing anything. The IP was kind of space age after the vehicle was turned on. It now reminds me of some of the Lincoln commercials which illustrate pushing a button and all kinds of "bells and whistles" activate. The car was quiet and performed decently (for grocery gettin) and the AC worked well in AZ. high ambients. The charging plug was proprietary in those days, so you couldn't pull up to a "regular" outlet and plug in (I believe the plug is now universal, by agreement between the manufacturers).
The car was heavy.....for what it was....because of the massive battery load which started under the rear seat and extended into the trunk area.

I was a GM for a Saturn store a long time ago and we had them there. I remember the GM rep that had us out driving them - He says, "when you goose it, make sure the steering wheel is straight and you're holding on tight" Not being one to heed warnings, I had to see for myself - truly amazing the InstaBanzai torque those things had. One test drive I took killed the battery in about 15 miles. I was a little heavy on the throttle. Lot of fun and a huge pain in the rear for the dealership. We constantly were picking them up dead on the road.
