Wink Forum Canucks rejoice... currency parity w/ US Dollar!

Canadian loonie and US dollar are 1:1 for first time since the 1970's. Good for Canuck's, not so good for us Yanks. Thank you, Dubya.

They say that the falling (crashing, actually...) US Dollar may mean more exports for US companies which should strengthen USA, but I ask... just what the h^ll will the exports be since we don't make anything here anymore?

As you can see from post 1 and 2, I'm a bi-partisan complainer...

I see from posts 1,2,3, and 4 that you like to have conversations with yourself J/K

You would think that this would be good for the export business, but as you stated, we don't export nearly as much as we import, everything from consumer goods to people

I'm thrilled about the parity, it makes things so much cheaper to buy from the US.

I'm currently trying to get everything figured out for purchasing and importing a vehicle.

I wish I had time to head down for a shopping spree as well, Christmas is coming soon and I need to buy some gifts.

Hehe... Our cars may be cheap for you, but your drugs are cheap for us!

Should I be switching my line of work?

I can become and importer/exporter! Bring down some drugs, sell them, use the money to buy cheap cars and import them into Canada for sale, I'll be RICH!!!

Thanks, for the idea

Parity with the US greenback is only good if the place you go acknowledges it.

Wife and I went to Heart Island (Boldt Castle) on Saturday. They only gave us 85 cents on the dollar.
