I'm a smoker, and I smoke about 1 pack a day (but my time schedule is messed up.. 1 new pack usually opened at 6pm, and another new one the same time next day )..

I don't think I'll ever get to 2 packs a day.. It's expensive as hell now. $4.05 for a pack of Marlboro Smooths.. so that's $4.05 a day, for 30 days a month... that's over $120 a month just to smoke... And that's not even heavy smoking!

I'd say I fill up usually 3 times a month, it's usually $35 because I never am completely empty. But here lately gas has been $3.09/gal. I put $40 in the other day from 1/8 tank, didn't even fill it up...

 

Think I use to pay about 15 cents a pack when in the Army way back when. When they finally hit 50 cents I quit.

 

Jeez.. I wish I lived back then... I know it still evens out, but it was simpler times...

I could buy a cheaper brand, but the Smooths taste like peppermint (they're menthols.)

 

Nothing like smoking a stick of gum!!

 

you should try camel frost. its one of their new "signature series" cigarettes. tastes like mint. infused has a melonish taste. mmm... cigarettes... i've tried quitting so i could save some $$$$$$. but i really dont want to because i enjoy it, and i think thats why i've failed everytime.

 

If you don't want to, don't even try.

 

$120/month X 12 months = $1440/year just for smokes. I can think of many more things I'd like to buy for $1440 than halotosis and breathing difficulties.

Cigaretts were $1.50 a carton when I was in Vietnam, cheap yes, but I was making a whopping $160 a month. Its all relative. I'm glad I quit 20 years ago, when cigaretts were $1.35 a pack. That works out to ~$500/year saved for more important things or more than $20000 (at the $1.35 price) since then, or the cost of an HHR today.

 

Old Lar, save your breath. You'll never convince an addict. My sister continues to smoke because she doesn't want lose weight. She's already watched our mother die from bladder cancer and has lost all of her front teeth to smoking. I'm sure that's very enjoyable!

 

I smoke the new mellow's and really like them. I do really want to quit, but with the job, wedding planning, and living with a smoker makes it really hard. I've acutally quit a few times for a month or two but one night at a bar and its all over with, and you can no pry my yuengling draft away from me. I'm not a drunk i just get there occasionaly. Darn it now i need a beer and a smoke.

i have tried to quit, but with my job, i get stressed out alot and need the break. i tried candy and gum. i quit for a couple days and gained about 20lbs.
everyone at my job smokes so its hard to quit.
