Garage rip-offs !!

A friend sent this to me. I went out and tried it. It took me 31 seconds (I'm not a professional) the first time. I have 2 garages, one has the windows that does make it easier. The second has a 10 foot door, which would need a ladder or tailgate of a p-u for the additional height, that is needed for access.

To prevent this intrusion, simply use a tie wrap on the lever.

The springs are broken on my door, and the opener quit some time ago, it takes some effort to open it right now. Even more when you consider that I stick a screwdriver in the track.

Wow, think of all of the house thefts that will occur this holiday weekend from this theft training video. The insurance companies must love things like this...

Hmm... Windows, AND a rubber thing to cover the gap. I've never seen a rubber cover before. Mine has no windows and the door is flush against the framing. Even if you could get a hanger in it, you'd never be able to bend and manipulate it to release the catch.

No, to prevent intrusion, block up ALL you windows and never leave your house. Face it, locks are for keeping honest people honest. If they really want in, they'll find a way. The trick is to make harder to get in so they move on. The tie wrap will help, but only would make it marginally harder, especially for the doors with windows. What kind of lock is on the side or back door of the garage? Most just have cheap $5 door knob locks. I can break one of those with my hand. And I'm not all that strong either.

My garage door has the same alarm as the house if it's not opened with the remote the alarm go's off. If I don't hit the key pad by the door in 90 sec. the alarm will sound. Plus the release arm is 20 ft. in the air. My door go's strait up no roll up or fold over.
