Few years back I picked his biography up off the bargain book table @ Walton Books; which made for an interesting read. If asked today, I'd have to say the character of Goober was more enjoyable to watch than his supposed cousin Gomer. While I'm certain the times during that era of television were not any less complex than today, the laughs were certainly more genuine for me.

Goober was one of many funny characters on that show. I loved them all.
