GM-brand dealers tops for service

General Motors' brand dealerships are now providing the best service among mass-market automakers to drivers in their early years of ownership, a comprehensive annual report says.

J.D. Power and Associates said Wednesday its study shows retailers under six GM brands – including three that will disappear – posted most of the highest scores for service to customers with new vehicles in the first three years of operation in the United States, Canada and several other countries.

I notice they asked me at both dealers I went to yesterday if they bought the car from them. What difference does it make? Will they do a better job if I did or didn't? Either way, I didn't buy it from either (since my dealer is closed). The first dealership lied to me, and pretty much didn't want to do $hit....

The second dealer fixed my car and were very nice...

They would know if all your personal information (phone, address, email etc) was already in their system.

I'm truly happy for !

It's about time their dealer network realized that taking care of the customer AFTER the sale is also important if not more so.

Every time you go into a dealer for service it's another opportunity for the dealer to remind the customer that they made the right decision.

Service the way you want it...see this film from the late '40s on dealer service. http://www.autotraderclassics.com/ar...sationId=87553

If the service my dealer provides is typical, I'm not surprised by the results of this survey.

My dealer service is flawless, seamless, efficient, and any other superlative you can think of.

Makes me feel better about owning my first Chevy already. 8-D I have had 3 Chrysler/Dodge vehicles and got average service I guess.

My dealer isn't fantastic. I can come in as early as 11am and I'm asked to come back after 1 because everyone is fixing to go to lunch. Also no matter if I schedule an appointment or not it is a full hour for an oil change.
I can say the service guys do make it right if they have done wrong though without question. Last oil change the seal on the cap for the oil filter broke and basically turned my car into a oil leaking pit. I took it back and they replaced the seal, cleaned all the oil up and without any hassle. Still took an hour to put the seal on though. :P

i do not know which gm dealer they did the surveys at, it most certainly wasn't any in the Houston area.. all of the dealers i went to in Houston left parts off my car, I.E. like trim panel snaps or screws and bolts, or didn't fix everything i asked them too. they're answer was "oh i forgot you told me to fix about that maybe we can do it next time" i get better service at taco bell....

My Chevy dealer is the best and has done more than I could ever ask.

Too bad all GM dealers are not to this level. At least it looks like the system is starting to change in the majority.
