GM to let customers return cars for full refund

DETROIT (AP) -- General Motors Co. says it will allow new car buyers to return their vehicles within 2 months of purchasing them for a full refund if they're not satisfied.

The program is part of a sweeping, new marketing campaign, called "May the Best Car Win."

Two months? That might help. If they really want to get the public's attention, they should offer it at 6 months, or better yet, 1 year.

Probably a nice tax write-off when you take the car back and have to dump it for a loss as opposed to unsold units sitting at the train depot for the same period.

But then won't they have to try and sell them as used, with miles on them?

Since they would have already been titled, they have to sell as used.

I'll bet the guidlines on returns will be hard to follow. ANd if you traded in, and it's sold, you got nothing......

Or maybe just fix the ungodly rattles in my dash and headliner that I've taken it in 3 times for them to resolve... and without leaving grimy prints all over the light gray material this time. Bastages.
