GM to Produce Corvettes at Alternate Location?

Please tell me they wouldn't consider Mexico: Kentucky reportedly approves incentives for next Chevrolet Corvette - but will GM bite?

Way back in 1979-80 there was talk of moving 'Vette production to Long Beach, but it never happened after the UAW had a hissy fit. This has happened before, GM publicly "thinks" about shifting 'Vette production, the union caves, and the state gives more incentives.

If you ever make it to Bowling Green, I highly advise taking the tour...if they keep it there. Museum is pretty boring. I did leave about 100ft of rubber in the museum lot as a "Rob was here" signature in my wife's SHO :) It kinda stood out since it was a single stripe and about half as wide as the rest of the marks. lol

I have been amazed they kept 'vette production in the US due to the CAFE rules. Not sure if it is still true, but once there were different CAFE standards for imports and domestics. Ford moved their big car production to Canada to certif it as an import so it didn't drag their domestic CAFE average below the requirements.

Not true. Canada has the same standards.
