Gm think with your head not your wallet
First of from what we have found out about the GMC Granite is that it has suicide doors if every one stops and thinks this to me is a bad ideal. If one is in a side impact these doors are going to fold in on them selves. With no b pillar support 2 the seats look flimsy like they wont be able to with stand a heavy person like me. With this being said i think they need to scratch granite and do some mods to HHR. One lets see if maybe it could be relaunched in an all wheel drive version, increase wheels to a 20 inch. Wheels or like the old blazers make the rear half removable or a towing package standard

I don't want to sound mean, but please proof read your posts and use PUNCTUATION! Your post is too hard to read without it. It is like a run-on sentence. Please fix it so we can read your post and we might agree with what you have to say.
I second that opinion. Only James Joyce could really get away with "stream of consciousness" writing. I got lost 1/4 into your post and wasn't going to try and decipher it but I would like to know what you're posting about the Granite. I have not done my homework on that car.

Just talking about the 'suicide door' part of your post.
I really don't know anything about the Granite. I assume that the suicide door is a smaller sized door, a la the Honda Element, Toyota FJ-40, Saturn Ion coupe, Mazda RX-8, and any number of small (or large) extended-cab pickups. This kind of design has been well-proven as far as safety in side impacts. What you may not realize is that when the suicide door is latched, small posts extend down into the rocker panel and up into the outer roof rail, effectively creating a solid vertical anti-intrusion beam / B-pillar.
.....
Just took a detour to look at some pics of the Granite concept. Cute little bugger - I'd take it any day over a Scion Xb, if that's what it will be up against.
Don't fret about the doors. That's why they pay them engineers the big bux.

Sorry for the Confusion
Yesterday when I wrote that I had been up for the last 14 hours. Worked the nite before and went to donate plasma. I was basically setting her falling asleep while i was typing that. But as i also said I'm a fan of B pillars that to me says safety. Another thing is granite does not look appealing to me and at 375 pounds the car seat have to be able to hold me.
Personally I kind of like the Granite and my wife REALLY likes the look of it - especially the rear suicide doors. The granite might be her new car when her PT dies. If the production vehicle really does get the rear suicide doors, I am sure as stated above that they would make it strong as it has been done before. Several companies have done things similar but no where near as large. Most have had short half doors. The granite does not. It is a full size rear door. But this is a prototype, even though GM has said it will keep this feature doesn't mean the production version really will. Who knows. I haven't seen any spy photos of the Granite yet, just pictures of concept vehicle at car shows.
The link below has a pictures of the concept vehicle for those who may not have seen it.
