Gun Control
incube.....
you wouldn't be promoting your own web site, would you?
Oh, and you forgot to include a key word in your description of the system...."PUBLIC".
Law enforcement has had access to this information for many more years (1970's) through a properly instructed command through NCIC.

I don't personnally own a handgun, but believe you should be able to if you pass the back ground checks. We all have a right to defend ourselves against dnagerous agression that may cause bodily harm or death. Like we said when I worked for the Fed. Prison System. When in the tower, in case of attempted escapes etc, Aim to mame, but no garuntee in Markmanship.

we have an obligation to flee before we can defend ourselves even in our own homes
"There's a possibility you might die, but don't protect yourself."
No way I would flee in my own home. I don't know what the law is here in Oklahoma, but I remember in WV it was something like you had to be in the farthest place away from your home entrance before you could retaliate, which is a little better, but not much. If I see someone breaking into the living room, I'm not gonna bait them to my bedroom just to shoot 'em.
