Hey folks

Hey folks, a new guy here...

I just thought I'd introduce myself rather than lurk so here goes. The name is Adam, 23, from Ontario Canada, and I recently became interested in the HHR's and I'm hoping to become an owner soon. Doing my research first though. Going to sift through some of the history of the board and see what everyone has to say. Glad to be here, and if anyone has any input about the vehicle it is more than welcome as I want to know everything I can before I make a decision.

Cheers

-Adam

Hi Adam, I'm in Oshawa, GR8 site there is plenty all over the forum.
What type of HHR are you interested in. Auto, stick,LS,LT,SS or panel? They have very good safety ratings too.
I've owned a 2LT and SS. SS is my preference.

Get an SS if you can find one and don't mind the premium pricing. It's seriously a nice vehicle. More then I imagined.

Cokeybill...I'm looking at the 2LT...I'd rather have the 2.4 and have some half-decent horsepower. I'm sure the SS is awesome...I mean a fast, turbocharged, unique-looking car...how can you go wrong? But I don't want the insurance people taking advantage of me, and I wouldn't trust my right foot to keep me out of speeding tickets so...the 2LT is where my interest is.

Automatic as well...even though I'd like to have a stick shift, for one thing I have not had much practice, and for another there would occasionally be people driving it that do not know how to drive stick.

2LT will suit your needs then. My 2LT was an auto and it had plenty of get up and go. My insurance didn't go up at all when I got the SS. Did you check with your Ins. agent? Just a thought!!

I can't say I checked on insurance premiums for the SS, no...I got a decent quote for the 2LT which, while decent, was already high enough for me but I suppose it would be worth checking. Although I kind of don't feel like paying another several thousand dollars for it when the 2LT is already pretty generous the way I priced it.
