Kind strange, not many 5 or 6yr olds were listening to Buddy Rich back then.

I always keep a Heart CD in disc 1....Magic Man, Crazy on you, and Barracuda.

Lately I've been obsessed with listening to Louis Prima. So your not the only one digging on swing Nate.

Do you think that's part of the reason you took up drums?

The New White Stripes, Nirvana Remix, Pear Jam - "Vitalogy", RHCP - "What Hits?", Probot - Dave Grohl's metal/punk all-stars, Machine Head - "Burn My Eyes". Obviously I have the 6 CD Changer. :)~

The other thread is really what music you like or influences - this could be sounds from your HHR! I did have the Squirrel Nut Zippers in a ways back, I like some of the swing myself!

Probot kicks ass! That project wasn't what I would expect out of Dave Grohl. Shake Your Blood is such a bad ass song. I love Lemmy! Lemmy and Motorhead have always played a huge role in the music I listen to ever since I was a little kid. It was nice to hear some of the old timers rocking out today. I hope they do more CDs with different line ups.

As far as music in my HHR, I'm primarily listening to Classic Rock and Blues. War, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Thorogood, Van Halen, AC/DC, Ted Nugent, Eagles, etc. Some good old fashion Hit The Road driving music.

Oh heck yeah! No doubt Buddy Rich was a huge influence.

I wanted to play drums at 2yrs old but my parents thought that was too young. Finally I started lessons at 5 1/2... stuck with it....and proved them wrong!

My 18-month old is going to be a drummer..I can tell! In the studio I just set a keyboard on a drum patch, and let him rip. He like to bang on de drum all day!

Yesterday we were riding to the park in the HHR and I said; "What sound does a cymbal make?" He looked me right in the eye, held out his hand to mimic a drumstick hitting a cymbal and said "Pshhhht" I love that kid!
