HHR Soundtrack
#21
Back on topic: My favorite CD in the HHR right now is Sting's "All This Time.' It was an evening outdoor concert at his home in Italy - recorded on Sept 11th (yep, the one). They almost cancelled but didn't want to "bow" to terrorism. There's a whole documentary about it on the DVD.
Anyway, HUGE band with piano, upright bass, cello, keyboards, slide guitar, lots of drums & percussion, Hammond organ, electric guitar, trumpet, trombone and backup singers. What a night! Even if you hated Sting you would love this CD (or DVD). Tons of soul, and killer solos by everyone. Sting sings more than playing bass (the upright is by Christian McBride), and it is such an intimate night (about 150-people), that is so cool.
If you haven't, and dig the R& B style - check it out!

Probably, he is a talented musician and song writer no doubt. I just really liked The Police so everything after just doesn't compare IMO. Kind of like Ric Ocasek, I loved The Cars but didn't like his solo career.
