I don't know what to do! HELP!

Everyone makes mistakes in their past right? Right! Well there is guy my girlfriend and I go to church with. He hasn't known me all that long and really knows nothing about me other than the fact that I have a son. H e has known my girlfriend for a long time, she baby sits for him when needed and all that good stuff. Enough talk, he is a teacher at the local high school and he told one of his students (girlfriends cousin/ my friend) that she could do so much better than me and that I would never ammount to anything and all that kinda crap. The person he said this to came to me and told me everything that was said.

Should I say something to the man? Like I said he knows nothing about me!
It has REALLY been bothering me!!

Who cares what someone else thinks about you?

Confront him on such in a non-confrontational manner, that's my initial reaction. Introduce yourself, gladly spell out what you've heard, and acknowledge you're open to talk about it and serious about said girlfriend. I'm a confrontational person though, no lie, why not put it out there, usually that ends such nonsense. Life's too short!

First: Has he talked to your Girlfriend about this and has SHE said anything to you about it?

Second: The only opinions that matter are yours and hers.

Third: If she truly loves you what he says shouldn't matter.

Last: Relax and keep on keeping on with your plans.

Cheers
Doc

People like this, you will never change their attitude. I do wonder why he would make such statements if he doesn't know you that well. Best defense, prove him wrong.

Personally, I'd tell my GF that since this is his attitude towards you, she should no long baby sit for him. Maybe he has feelings for her?

You cared about it enough to post on a forum, it's clearly something on your mind and the easiest way to erase it would be to remove the issue, as I know myself "forgetting it" isn't always an option to some people, I wish daily I could be more "passive", but I also enjoy the fact that I'm not a pushover and whom has taught such to me.

I just need to choose my battles and recognize the time and place a little more wisely .

i think the thing that bothers me the most is the fact that he's like 20 years older than me!
