I met an interesting man today.
Today a gentleman came in for an oil change and he has an interesting story. Funny thing is, I could only find this story on forums until I finally found the story on FOX.com. Why do the other media outlets ignore this? This isn't political in nature it is pride for your nation and your military. He got a free oil change today.
Homeowners Association Threatens to Tow Vietnam Veteran's Car Over Marines Decals
Thursday, May 28, 2009
FOX News
A disabled Vietnam veteran in Dallas with more than 14 years of service in the Marines is under attack by a homeowners association, MyFOXDFW.com reports.
Frank Larison's offense: showing his support for the Marines by displaying seven decals on his vehicle.
"To me, it's being patriotic, and it shows that I served," Larison told the FOX affiliate.
The board of The Woodlands II on The Creek says the decals violate the rules of the homeowners association, which deems them advertisements — even though the TV station spotted other residents' vehicles with bumper stickers for political parties, health causes and other non-commercial interests.
Larison has lived there for eight years. Now, he has been told in a letter to cover or get rid of the decals or his car will be towed and he could be fined $50 if it happens again, according to the report.

I'm sorry if it's put out by Fox it can't be true
I've heard too much crap like this by Homeowner's associations:
*Vet can't fly the US Flag, because it's against the HOA regulations.
* Car is too old and ugly looking and not permitted to park in the carports next to neighbors newer cars.

Not one decal is an advertisement.
I say we get the email address for the home owners association and we begin an email campaign for our fellow HHR owner. Nothing nasty or harsh, just our support as Americans and HHR owners and the freedom of speach that this gentleman fought for. How say you?

That's shameful
HOA= Neighborhood Nazi's
The president of it is probably younger and hasn't lived in the area as long as him. Also, fellow residents are probably not the ones complaining, just a board member. I will never again live in a HOA governed neighborhood due to all these types of issues.
Nothing like regarding a show of patriotism and support as advertising.

Darenda Hardy,
The story of Frank Larison's Marine stickers is a P.R. nightmare. I just wanted to inform you we had a similar case in Florida where a man was flying a flag in his yard. The HOA tried to kick him out of the neighborhood and he sued. Not only did he win but it made national news. I would guess your story is about to go national if I have heard about it over here in Florida. Honor our Vets and let it go.
Thank You,
Trevor Norris
