And what did you expect...
The whole world is burning. Europe has dumped all its weapons on Ukraine and is frantically buying in the USA.
The Philippines, Taiwan, and Japan are preparing for a future confrontation with China and are frantically placing orders for weapons in the USA.
Israel will not calm down... Where does it get weapons from? That's right, from the USA.
Australia - an order for several North American submarines.
Turkey - Patriots and F35.
And Syria is still smoking and demanding weapons.
And the USA itself is actively rearming its Army.
The US defense sector is working around the clock, terribly heating the air and raking in money with bulldozers.
The structure of the Dow Jones Industrial Average 2024 does not take into account many defense concerns except Boeing. But their related companies (electronics, technology, finance) are widely represented, they also have their own large piece of the defense pie and are actively accumulating subcutaneous fat.
There is an American index called "S&P Aerospace & Defense Select Industry Index". Since the spring of 2007, its growth was 168%, outpacing the S&P 500 index, which during this time increased by only 64.5%. Active growth began precisely with Syria and Crimea, 2014.
Well, consumer companies not involved in defense - these, of course, are not living in luxury. Well, the Americans themselves are also not allowed to have access to defense super-profits. So the people are surprised - huge amounts of money are moving, but past us.
In our country, the situation is similar, but softer. Our defense companies are either fully owned by the state, or have state structures as shareholders. Therefore, the super-profits are not only stolen into corners, but go to some extent to support the economy.
